Creating iKangooCamping

This panel bridges the gap between the two recycled cupboards and is held in place with webbing straps (recycled from a lead and harness!) to allow it to be lifted for access to the cupboard beneath.  When flat it forms the bed platform which is also used for carrying large, heavy and bulky loads such as shaving bales - yes, this van is versatile!

Also cut from the old ply sheet - the brackets for the bed 'pillow' extension, also 'hinged' with red webbing.
Eventually, all the old woodwork will be repainted and generally spruced up.  So far, everything has been recycled - even the hinges and the webbing is from an old rabbit lead and harness!

Keeping things very simple:
The bed extension is completed. The old plywood sheet has been cut to create two extra panels creating a 'pillow' infill and a panel to bridge the gap between the two recycled cupboards.  These are held in place with webbing straps which offer more flexibility than a piano hinge and allows them to be folded back onto the cupboards.  The water jerrican, oil radiator and plastic crate on casters are now secured with webbing straps.

Slowly taking shape now with the addition of washable doormats for carpeting (such luxury!), a temporary 1988-vintage camper-mat stapled to the top of the overturned lockers to create a 'seat', retaining strap recycled from an old life-jacket, new food/water storage bin, funnel to fill the jerrican, hanging area for overnight silver screens and misc slots for other essentials such as my .... electric blanket!!
