Soon fixed side windows will be fitted to the rear. To improve ventilation, a Fiamma 280mm lifing roof vent is being fitted leading to a heart-in-mouth moment at the first cut was made to the van roof. Neither of us have ever attempted this previously and although J is a very competent and skilled woodworker, he's never previously cut metal with a jigsaw.
Fitting the internal framing for the roof vent. These are designed to be fitted to caravans and motorhomes with a double-skin construction. Clearly, my tin van doesn't have this so a frame is needed to provide both stability and something to screw into to secure the vent.
The roof vent in place - and sealed to prevent water ingress.
