Creating iKangooCamping

So far, work has been progressing well, possibly too well and there just had to be a hitch....  This is it - when preparing to fit insulation, extensive hidden corrosion was discovered which is potentially beyond effectively treating and may involve cutting away an entire sill and beyond then welding in a new one.  This is completely unexpected and, for now, only the upper half of the van will be insulated to retain access for this work to follow.

The corrosion has now been treated with two layers of Kurust and liberally drenched in Waxoyl to try to stabilise it and prevent any further deterioration of the sill although this will need to be replaced.  A decision will be made later in the summer re whether to retain this van which is going to require some work (potentially a new sill, new exhaust, new cam belt, new water pump...) or whether it would be more economic to replace it with a newer diesel vehicle in which a heater can be fitted for year-round camping....
